Strong market belief in Nordea’s long-term strategy of active investing

Nordea bagged a total of six wins at the 2021 Morningstar Awards.

The success at the highly regarded ceremony indicates a strong market belief in long-term, risk-adjusted investing – the foundation of Nordea’s asset management strategy.

At this year’s edition of the Morningstar Awards, Nordea Funds brought home no more than six wins in total.

“Obviously, it’s a very proud milestone moment for the asset management of Nordea. The overall result truly reflects the strong and stable, collective effort of the entire organisation,” says Henrika Vikman, Managing Director at Nordea Funds Ltd.

“The awards are a recognition of the great work our portfolio teams across the Nordics put into ensuring our long-term investors the best products on the market – with risk-adjusted returns that match or even outperform the market standards,” she adds.

Morningstar Awards is an annual event organized by the market leader in independent investment research, Morningstar. Its main purpose is to help investors around the world identify the most exceptional funds and fund managers of today.

ESG and the long-term paradigm

The success at the 2021 Morningstar Awards demonstrates a widespread trust and confidence in the long-term strategy of active investing, Nordea has been practising and promoting for over a decade – and made a key component in the investment strategy.

“At Nordea, we see that investors are becoming increasingly aware of the long-term perspective as a means for maximising the growth potential of their hard-earned savings,” Henrika Vikman says.

Over the past few years, investments with a sustainable and green perspective has gained momentum. Assets that integrate environmental, social and corporate governance issues – otherwise known as the ESG criteria – has become in high demand by private investors in the Nordics.

“We’ve been committed to ESG for over a decade. It simply has become part of our DNA. And I can see that ESG has grown to be part of the new normal in the investment landscape. It’s not just a fad, it's the future,” Henrika Vikman points out.

“I’m delighted to see that investors are now more than ever convinced that ESG and sustainable thinking is crucial in achieving long-term value. And I firmly believe we are just witnessing the beginning,” Henrika Vikman concludes.
